HIGHLIGHTS: Watch the action from an eventful practice session in Baku as Verstappen sets the pace
Max Verstappen topped the timesheets in the one and only practice session of the Sprint weekend in Baku, leading the way ahead of Ferrari’s Charles Leclerc and his team mate Sergio Perez.
Verstappen left it late on the soft tyre to set a time of 1m 42.315s, to lead Leclerc, in second, by just 0.037s. Perez was third, crossing the line just after his team mate to end up setting a time that was 0.139s off the pace-setter.

Carlos Sainz was fourth quickest in the other Ferrari ahead of his former McLaren team mate Lando Norris, the impressive sixth-placed Nyck de Vries for AlphaTauri, and the Aston Martin duo of Lance Stroll and Fernando Alonso in seventh and eighth, respectively.
Alex Albon was ninth fastest for Williams, ahead of Lewis Hamilton and George Russell, who were down in 11th and 17th, respectively.
It was a session to forget for Alpine, with Pierre Gasly’s car catching fire, forcing Esteban Ocon to be held out for most of practice as a precaution, while Kevin Magnussen also stopped on track with a fuel pump issue on his Haas.
