HIGHLIGHTS: Watch the action from the Sprint as Verstappen outduels Leclerc at Imola
Max Verstappen ensured he will start in P1 for tomorrow’s race at Imola after the reigning champion overcame rival Charles Leclerc in the F1 Sprint.
Verstappen lost out to Leclerc at the start but was able to hit back on the penultimate lap of the Sprint to take victory – the Safety Car punctuating the action on Lap 1 when Zhou Guanyu and Pierre Gasly came together.
Sergio Perez was able to make his way through the field from P7 to finish third, and he will start tomorrow’s race on the same row as Carlos Sainz, who similarly made his way from P10 to P4 on Saturday.

McLaren's Lando Norris therefore lost a couple of positions while Daniel Ricciardo couldn't make headway. Meanwhile at Mercedes, neither Lewis Hamilton nor George Russell were able to make gains into the top 10...
