F1 ACADEMY: Pin capitalises on Race 1 chaos to seize Standings lead in Montreal
Doriane Pin has taken her third F1 ACADEMY victory in 2025 by winning Race 1 in Montreal, giving her the lead in the Drivers' Standings.

Doriane Pin wrote her name into the F1 ACADEMY history books, benefitting from a dramatic early incident between Chloe Chambers and Alisha Palmowski to become the series’ first winner in Montreal.
Starting P3 on the grid, the Mercedes driver watched her race transform on Lap 2. Palmowski’s attempted overtake on race leader Chambers at Turn 1 backfired, with the Red Bull Racing driver locking up and hitting her Campos Racing teammate.

As Palmowski dropped down the order and Chambers was forced to pit for a new front wing, Pin hit the front of the field and steadily began building a gap to second-place Ella Lloyd, after the McLaren driver made her way up from seventh on the grid.
Keeping her at bay through a Safety Car late on after Montreal Wild Card driver Mathilda Paatz hit the wall out of the final corner, Pin would ultimately bring the race to close behind a second Safety Car following contact between Rafaela Ferreira and Chloe Chong, and Joanne Ciconte and Courtney Crone.
With the win, Pin seized a 24-point lead in the Drivers' Standings. Lloyd brought home a P2 finish while her Rodin Motorsport teammate Emma Felbermayr initially claimed third, but was later disqualified after her #5 Kick Sauber car was found to be below the minimum weight.
Palmowski was also awarded a 10-second time penalty for causing a collision with Chambers. This promoted Alpine’s Nina Gademan up to P3, followed by Lia Block and Alba Larsen. Tina Hausmann moved up to P6, whilst Chambers salvaged points in seventh.

Race 2 is scheduled to get underway at 14:50 (UTC -4). You can read an in-depth report of Race 1 in Montreal and catch up on any reactions on the official website here.
