F1 ACADEMY: Pin storms from sixth to victory in Miami Race 1

Doriane Pin seized the advantage from a dramatic opening lap and fended off pressure to deliver the win in Miami Race 1 from sixth on the grid.
At lights out, Ella Lloyd made contact with second-place starter Rafaela Ferreira, sending the rest of the field into avoiding action and the McLaren driver into retirement.
Pin emerged both unscathed and up into second, fighting back-and-forth with reverse grid polesitter Emma Felbermayr for the lead after the first Safety Car. Eventually finding her way through into the lead, the Mercedes driver controlled a second restart and ensured Alisha Palmowski couldn’t get close enough to gamble on a move.
It was a successful day for Campos Racing as both Palmowski and Chloe Chambers made up ground to deliver a double podium for the team.
Standings leader Maya Weug recovered from a disappointing Qualifying in 10th to finish in fourth. Williams’ Lia Block took the chequered flag in fifth but was demoted to 10th after receiving a five-second penalty for leaving the track and gaining an advantage in her battle with Tina Hausmann through Turns 11 and 12.
Nina Gademan made up eight places to classify in fifth ahead of Nobels and Aston Martin’s Tina Hausmann. Ferreira bounced back from her opening lap troubles to claim the final point in P8.
