F2: Fornaroli takes commanding Spa-Francorchamps Sprint Race victory
Invicta Racing’s Leonardo Fornaroli took his second consecutive Sprint Race victory with his triumph in Belgium.

Invicta Racing’s Leonardo Fornaroli took his second consecutive Sprint Race victory – following his win at Silverstone – with a brilliant drive at Spa-Francorchamps.
The Italian made a great start from third to take the lead into Turn 1, and from there on he fought off the challenge of Amaury Cordeel and managed a Safety Car restart to win the race.
Cordeel had been running second but contact with Victor Martins knocked him out of the race, with the ART Grand Prix driver finishing in P2 after starting in sixth.
PREMA Racing’s Gabriele Minì charged through from eighth on the grid to finish in third, while pole-sitter Oliver Goethe wound up in fourth for MP Motorsport.
Goethe held of his fellow Red Bull Junior Josep María Martí in the final few laps, with the Campos Racing driver forced to settle for fifth.
Roman Stanek put two Invicta cars in the points with a run to sixth, ahead of Rodin Motorsport’s Alexander Dunne, as ART’s Ritomo Miyata took the final point in P8.
Dunne is set to start from pole position in Sunday’s Feature Race, where he will be joined on the front row by Miyata.
Lights out is set for 10:00 local time on Sunday, but until then, you can read an in-depth report of the FIA Formula 2 Sprint Race from Spa on the official website here.
