F2: Marti claims maiden victory as Bortoleto extends Championship lead in Yas Marina Sprint

Campos Racing’s Josep María Martí put in an assured performance as he came through from fourth to win the Yas Marina Sprint Race, giving him his first Formula 2 victory.
The Red Bull Academy driver made a rapid start from P4 on the grid to lead before Turn 1 avoiding all the drama that happened in the midfield.
However, he was made to work for it as Gabriel Bortoleto fought his way up from ninth on the grid to second, looking to chase down the Spanish racer for victory.

But Martí held to win the race, while the 2025 Kick Sauber driver finished in P2, allowing him to extend his Championship lead to five and a half points ahead of Sunday’s Feature after Isack Hadjar wound up in P6.
Hitech Pulse-Eight’s Paul Aron held off a charging Ollie Bearman across the line to finish in third but with that result he is now mathematically out of the title running ahead of the last race of the season.
Bearman wound up in P5 despite crossing the line in fourth as a five-second time penalty for exceeding track limits one too many times dropped him behind fellow Scuderia Ferrari Academy member Dino Beganovic, who again impressed in his DAMS Lucas Oil car.

Hadjar had to contend with a damaged front wing endplate after an opening lap collision with Kush Maini, but the Campos driver goes into the Feature still with a chance of winning the title.
Fresh from his FP1 debut with Williams, Luke Browning put in an impressive performance for ART Grand Prix, going from P17 on the grid to seventh ahead of MP Motorsport’s Richard Verschoor, who took the final point.
