Oscar Piastri will start on pole position for the Emilia-Romagna Grand Prix, pipping Max Verstappen and George Russell to the top spot with his final lap. Here’s a round-up of all the best facts and stats from another thrilling Qualifying session…

• Piastri has taken his third pole position of the season, which draws him level with Verstappen on the same amount.

• It marks the first time since 2005 that McLaren has started on pole at Imola since Kimi Raikkonen achieved the feat.

• Verstappen fell short of his fourth pole by 0.034s and means it is the first time the reigning World Champion will start from second on the grid this year.

• George Russell's third-place is his best-ever starting position at Imola, while it is the third time he will start from the position in the last four Grands Prix.

• Lando Norris qualified fourth, meaning the McLaren driver will start outside the top-three for the third time in the last four Grands Prix.

• Fernando Alonso will start fifth, his highest start at Imola since 2006, and is the first time an Aston Martin has reached Q3 all season.

• Both Ferrari drivers failed to reach Q3 which is the first time in the history of F1 at Imola that the Scuderia will not have a car inside the top 10 on the grid.
