GALLERY: Jackie Stewart drives 1973 title-winning Tyrrell in emotional demo run ahead of Bahrain GP
Sir Jackie Stewart was reunited with the Tyrrell 006 he raced to his third and final F1 World Championship title during the 1973 season on Sunday, as part of a special demonstration run ahead of the Bahrain Grand Prix.
The emotional pre-race moment combined F1’s 75th anniversary year and the 60th anniversary of Stewart’s F1 debut, as well as marking 10 years of his charity, Race Against Dementia, which was founded in 2016 following his wife’s diagnosis.

Now aged 85, Stewart donned full racing overalls and his iconic tartan-inspired helmet – signed by every living F1 World Champion – for the demo, while posing for photographs with key paddock figures including F1 President and CEO Stefano Domenicali.
