Grosjean handed Monaco gearbox grid penalty
Lotus’s Romain Grosjean will drop five places on the grid for Sunday’s Monaco race thanks to a change of gearbox on his car since the last round in Spain.
Grosjean finished eighth in Barcelona, but lost fourth gear in the race’s latter stages. Lotus were therefore forced to change his gearbox before it had completed the six consecutive races required by the regulations, incurring the grid penalty.
The French driver was 13th and 10th fastest respectively in Thursday's two practice sessions, and followed that up by going 10th fastest in FP3 on Saturday morning.
