HIGHLIGHTS: Norris charges to victory over Antonelli in Sao Paulo Sprint thriller as Piastri crashes out

Lando Norris managed the precarious track conditions in Interlagos to secure another win.

Grey skies and a damp circuit were not enough to dissuade Lando Norris from storming to victory in the Sao Paulo Sprint, narrowly beating the Mercedes duo of Kimi Antonelli and George Russell.

After a strong start for Norris, his McLaren team mate Oscar Piastri learned just how tricky the mixed conditions were – he drove onto the wet kerb at Turn 3, which sent him into a spin that ended in the barriers.

Nico Hulkenberg and Franco Colapinto replicated his error and the Sprint was halted to recover the stricken cars, with race control confirming that there would be a rolling start controlled by Norris.

He sped away from Antonelli at the restart, with the Italian coming under pressure from the second Mercedes of George Russell. While the order remained the same to the chequered flag, Norris struggled with his soft tyres for the final laps, bringing Antonelli threateningly close behind him – he ultimately finished just eight-tenths behind the Sprint winner.

As they crossed the line, home hero Gabriel Bortoleto suffered a massive crash that saw him slam into the inside wall before flying across the circuit to hit another barrier. He thankfully confirmed that he was uninjured.
