HIGHLIGHTS: Watch the action from FP1 in Miami as Leclerc sets the pace
Ferrari's Charles Leclerc ended the first and only practice session of the Miami Grand Prix weekend on top.
Charles Leclerc topped the timesheets during an extended sole practice session ahead of the Miami Grand Prix, the Ferrari driver leading the way from Max Verstappen.
In a session that ran for 90 minutes rather than the usual 60 – a decision announced by the FIA in advance of the weekend – Leclerc posted a fastest time of 1m 29.310s, putting him 0.297s ahead of Verstappen in the Red Bull while McLaren’s Oscar Piastri followed in third.
The other Ferrari of Lewis Hamilton was fourth, with Mercedes’ Kimi Antonelli – who did not get a run on the soft tyre following a small power unit issue in the latter stages – and team mate George Russell in fifth and sixth respectively.
