Team orders reared their head in the Sao Paulo Sprint as Lando Norris took the win ahead of pole sitter Oscar Piastri, with Max Verstappen crossing the line close behind in third.
The Australian said after Sprint Qualifying that he would be willing to support his McLaren team mate Norris in his championship charge, but it took Nico Hulkenberg’s DNF to force the team’s hand and instruct Piastri to let Norris past before the virtual safety car was introduced.

Behind the top three, the Ferrari duo of Charles Leclerc and Carlos Sainz slotted in fourth and fifth respectively, with George Russell, Pierre Gasly and Sergio Perez claiming the remaining points on offer.
