Red Bull's reigning champion set the pace in what was the final chance for drivers to get their flying laps in ahead of qualifying in Bahrain, where the grid will be set for the opening Grand Prix of the 2022 season.

Soft-tyred times came thick and fast (by all but Alpine), Mercedes getting in on the action as George Russell made it to the top five late on, while Ferrari and Red Bull duelled at the very top of the timesheets.
