Former Formula 2 driver Roy Nissany will get his first taste of 2019 Formula 1 machinery when he takes the wheel for Williams during next week’s two-day post-season test in Abu Dhabi.
Israeli racer Nissany, 25, competed in the F2 championship in 2018 and also won races during three years in World Series Formula V8 3.5.
He’ll take over from regular race driver George Russell in the afternoon on day one of the test, which starts on Tuesday, and begins day two before handing over the car to next year’s race driver Nicholas Latifi mid-morning.
“I am excited to drive for Williams in the 2019 Abu Dhabi Pirelli tyre test,” he said. “It is great experience to build my on-track experience in a current Formula One car, and I hope that I can impress the team whilst doing so.”
