'It’s great to kickstart the season' – Norris and Piastri 'excited' for F1 75 Live launch event

McLaren racers Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri are “excited” to see what next Tuesday’s unprecedented official Formula 1 season launch F1 75 Live at The O2 has in store for them.
For the first time in the sport’s long and illustrious history and to celebrate the sport’s 75th anniversary year, all 10 teams and all 20 drivers will come together to reveal their new liveries to kick off the 2025 campaign.

“I’m expecting a lot,” said last year’s runner up Norris, who’ll be walking out in front of a home crowd. “It’s going to be crazy. The O2 is a cool place to do it. We’ve never done something like this before.
“It’s great for Formula 1, it’s great to kickstart the season rather than just going into testing to have more of an event.”

His team mate Piastri added: “It’s going to be interesting to see what it’s like.
“We haven’t done anything remotely similar to that before. I’m excited to see what it’s like.
“It’s always important in anything in life to try something different every now and again. That’s how you make progress, whether that’s trying new things on the car or different things for the sport.
“I think it’s a good thing to try new things. Not everything is going to work – but it’s going to be an exciting thing to do.”

The F1 2025 launch event will take place at London’s O2 on February 18, with the two-hour show kicking off at 2000 GMT.
Fans who are unable to be there can still be part of the immersive event, with Formula 1 broadcasters from around the globe confirming they will televise the event live and it will be streamed for free on F1’s social media channels, including YouTube.
