Netflix confirm Formula 1: Drive to Survive returning for Season 9

After eight hit seasons, a ninth series of Formula 1: Drive to Survive is heading to Netflix.

Netflix have confirmed that Formula 1: Drive to Survive is set to return for Season 9, giving fans a behind-the-scenes glimpse into the 2026 F1 campaign.

Since first hitting the streaming platform back in 2019, the show has become a global hit as viewers have tuned in to witness the various twists and turns – both on and off the track – of each Formula 1 season.

Now fans will again get the chance to take a peek into what has been happening in the paddock across the 2026 championship, which has already witnessed some big storylines ranging from the emergence of youngest-ever title leader Kimi Antonelli through to an ever-changing pecking order as the development race evolves.

James Gay-Rees and Paul Martin, Executive Producers at Box to Box which produces the show, said of the news: “We’re so excited to be making Season 9 of this iconic show.

“This year we’re going to go deeper than ever before into the hidden spaces of this fantastic sport.”

While there may still be some time to wait until Season 9 of Formula 1: Drive to Survive drops on Netflix, fans can look forward to plenty more action across the second half of the 2026 Formula 1 championship.
