PADDOCK PASS: All the reaction from a wild Sakhir Grand Prix as Perez takes his maiden win
There wasn’t a dry eye in the house, as they say, as Racing Point’s Sergio Perez took a shock maiden win at the Sakhir Grand Prix, 10 years and 190 races into his Formula 1 career.
That victory was helped along by a nightmare evening for Mercedes under the floodlights on the Outer Track of the Bahrain International Circuit, with a “colossal **** up” – in Mercedes Team Principal Toto Wolff’s words – costing Lewis Hamilton replacement George Russell his own sensational maiden win after a deeply impressive performance from the 22-year-old Briton.
Enjoy the reaction from all the drivers – including Perez’s fellow podium finishers Esteban Ocon and Lance Stroll – in the video above, or head to Spotify for a podcast version of our post-race Paddock Pass show.
