Silverstone to open F1® pit lane on 'Fans' Thursday'

Silverstone will celebrate hosting its 50th Grand Prix later this year by opening up the pit lane to fans on the Thursday of the 2014 Formula 1 Santander British Grand Prix.
For the first time, fans holding a three-day ticket to the race will be eligible for free entry to the pits on July 3, giving them unprecedented access as the F1 teams and drivers prepare for the ninth round of the 2014 world championship.
There will be five pit lane walks held over the course of the Thursday, with a limited number of free tickets for each to be made available on the day. Tickets will not be available in advance.
“Our loyal fans are incredibly important to us and we are constantly looking at ways to give them an even better experience,” said Silverstone managing director Richard Phillips.
“The introduction of Fans’ Thursday is part of our plan to make our 50th celebrations really special.”
