WATCH: Albon brings out the red flags after heavy crash during FP1 as he sits out FP2 in Australia
Alex Albon brought out the red flags during FP1 for the Australian Grand Prix after a heavy crash at the Albert Park Circuit.
Replays showed the Williams driver taking too much kerb heading into Turn 6, which gave him a snap, before he slid across and clipped the walls on the inside at Turn 7.
With the speed he was travelling at, Albon would then bounce across the track and hit the outside wall at Turn 8 for good measure, before his stricken FW46 came to a halt.
Thankfully Albon was on the radio to confirm he was okay after the heavy impact, before exiting the car as the session was stopped. However, Williams would later confirm that Albon would not take part in FP2 while the team continued to assess the damage to the car.
