WATCH: From karting success to F1 glory – Norris’ journey to the World Championship
From karting to Formula 1 World Champion, here is Lando Norris' journey to the top.
Lando Norris claimed his maiden Formula 1 Drivers' Championship in Abu Dhabi, becoming the 35th driver to achieve the feat in the sport's 75-year history.
The Briton's path to the top came on a foundation of success in the junior formula, starting in karting, which included the FIA F3 European Championship title in 2017 and finishing runner-up the following season in F2.
Having been promoted to a McLaren F1 seat in 2019, success gradually followed including a maiden podium just one year later in Austria and a first pole position in 2021.
The breakthrough win came in 2024 at the Miami Grand Prix and was followed by three further wins as he helped McLaren secure the Teams' Championship title.
Seven wins, including in Monte Carlo and in front of his home fans at Silverstone, as well as a further 11 podiums, ensured Norris claimed his first world title in 2025 by just two points.
