Last year's Italian Grand Prix was full of drama, with Safety Cars, a crucial Red Flag period and a tactical error from Mercedes all combining for one of the stand out races in a brilliantly exciting season.
Kevin Magnussen’s race ended early doors but his retirement proved absolutely pivotal as race leader Lewis Hamilton pitted as the Safety Car was called out – not realising the pit lane was closed.
That led to a penalty for the Mercedes man, which wound up being served after a red flag period caused by Charles Leclerc crashing heavily for Ferrari. All of which left lance Stroll leading the race from Pierre Gasly – with the Frenchman all over the back of the Canadian as the two battled it out for what was an incredibly unlikely lead of the Italian Grand Prix.
Hit play on the video above to see how Gasly managed to sneak past for his maiden win, the first for AlphaTauri since Sebastian Vettel won for the team then called Toro Rosso back in 2008…
