Max Verstappen was the first to cross the line in Austin for Red Bull, just one second ahead of championship rival Lewis Hamilton in what proved a grandstand finish. Most of the field followed suit, with just the Alpine pair and AlphaTauri’s Pierre Gasly failing to see the chequered flag at the Circuit of The Americas on Sunday.

Daniel Ricciardo was pleased with his “damage limitation” drive as he negated McLaren’s losses to Ferrari in the constructors’, while Yuki Tsunoda was credited with his best drive of the season according to his race engineer.
