WATCH: Relive the action from last year's Dutch GP ahead of this weekend's return to Zandvoort
Max Verstappen is set to return to his home race this weekend at the Dutch Grand Prix for the first time as a world champion. But before we go racing again, let's relive the Red Bull driver’s triumph at last year’s race in Zandvoort.
Returning to the calendar for the first time since 1985, the 2021 Dutch Grand Prix saw home hero Verstappen start on pole ahead of title rival Lewis Hamilton. The Red Bull driver was then able to hold off the challenge of the Briton all afternoon - including when Valtteri Bottas held up Verstappen, allowing Hamilton to close within a second - to seal a well earned victory in front of an ecstatic home crowd.
Hamilton pitted late to take the fastest lap but took the chequered flag in second place, ahead of Bottas in third. It was a great afternoon for AlphaTauri driver Pierre Gasly who finished in fourth ahead of Charles Leclerc in fifth.
