The start of the 2020 F1 season was much delayed because of the Covid-19 pandemic, and it wasn't until July that racing finally got under way – but when it did, it was well worth the wait.
It all kicked off with the Austrian Grand Prix at the Red Bull Ring, and the drivers served up a fantastically entertaining race to show us all what we had been missing.

Valtteri Bottas was on top form, taking pole position and the race victory, while at Red Bull, engine trouble put Max Verstappen out, leaving Alex Albon to lead their charge – and what a charge he was on: running in third in the latter stages on the soft tyres, the Thai driver looked like he could even power through to take his maiden F1 win, before he tangled with Lewis Hamilton, spinning into the gravel and dropping down the order before eventually retiring from the race.
So it was heartbreak for Albon, while Hamilton was handed a five-second penalty for his part in the incident – which set up a nail-biting finish as Lando Norris was closing in fast...
