WATCH: Six spins and not much fun - Valtteri Bottas has a day to forget in Turkey
He’s been one of the stand-out performers of the year, but Valtteri Bottas was the first to admit that the Turkish Grand Prix was not his day, the Finn spinning six times and admitting before the flag he just wanted the race to end.
Knowing he had to beat team mate Lewis Hamilton well to keep his slim title hopes alive, Bottas’s race got off to the worst possible start when he spun avoiding Renault’s Estaban Ocon at Turn 1.
A second spin soon after following contact with the Frenchman left Bottas with an off-set steering wheel and wing damage, and a miserable day weather-wise became a miserable day all around when he spun a further four times before coming home a lapped P14.
You can watch the drama unfold for yourself in the video above – but Bottas fans might want to look away!
